01 about
Hi, my name is Lauren Longenecker and I'm a student in AP Studio Art at Park Hill South High School. Next year I hope to be studying architecture at Kansas State University. My series investigation question is how can I transform the historic architecture of Kansas City and bring it into the modern era?
Series 1
Series #1
Photo: House located in the Coleman Highlands off Southwest Trafficway
Sketch: First rough sketch, still needed a little touch ups before ink
Ink: Final ink outline of the piece. Needed more darks and shading. Could color be added to symbolize the new edition to the house?
Photocopy: A photo copy was made from the final ink sketch to be used for experimentation. Different techniques are modeled so I could decided what I wanted to include in my final piece.
Final: The final drawing includes a garage bump out not included in the original design. The piece is done ink and Copic marker.

Series #2
Photo: House located in the Coleman Highlands off Southwest Trafficway
Half way point: All the windows have been done and an ink outline around the building form has been started. Also, about half the negative space has been cut out.
Sketch: Final Sketch in pencil before ink and color is added
Experimentation: I experimented with different color options and techniques to cut out the negative space.
Final: The final drawing included the building being outlined in ink, windows and main features are done in Prisma color, and the matt and empty space is peeled cardboard.
